Igniting the Fire of Thanksgiving in our Hearts

My friends, I wish I could tell you that the journey of my life has been trouble free but that would be a lie and for those of you who have journeyed through life without any problems, I rejoice with you. Because the journey of my life has been full of trouble, it makes living a life of thanksgiving a decision I have to make daily

We are reminded in Psalm 100:4-5 toEnter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations”.

Igniting the fire of thanksgiving in our hearts requires us to:

  • Take inventory – The inventory of our past and current state regardless of whether it is has been troublesome or full of successful.  You will find that the sustaining grace of God is enough to live a life of thanksgiving.
  • Acknowledge that God is good – Because of His faithfulness, protection, provision, compassion and mercy.  Reflecting on all of these characteristics of God is enough to ignite the fire of thanksgiving in anyone’s heart.

Christ follower, do not allow satan to steal your thanksgiving so choose to daily give thanks to the only ONE who is good and His love endures forever.  If you are currently not a Christ follower, the greatest thanksgiving you can give to God is offering Him your life by asking Jesus to forgive you of your sin.

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the United States!

All glory to God!
