Focus on the Pillar that holds it together – JESUS

My friends, if you are anything like me, I get distracted easily with the busyness of doing life and as a result, I often lose sight that of myself I can do nothing.  However, this reality check only comes from learning in a hard way when my efforts lead to a dead end and frustration.

So, how can you and I avoid meaningless efforts on our part that leads to disappointments, frustration and sometimes hopelessness?  The word of God reminds us (if we are willing to take note) in John 15:5 that “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”.

The solution based on the word of God is to intentionally:

  • Take a step back and reflect – on who is before all things and in whom is all things held together?  We will find out that Jesus is at the center of it all.
  • Ask what is God’s plan concerning our life – Once we acknowledge that God holds all things together – we know that expect we draw strength and wisdom from Him, our efforts will be futile. Hence asking Him for His plan concerning our life or a particular situation becomes a wise thing to do.
  • Pray – Now that we know God’s plan, we can pray with focus.  Jesus already knows what we need, but He wants to make sure we know what we need.

Christ follower, don’t be distracted, stay focused on the Pillar that holds your life together – Jesus. If you are currently not a Christ follower, every other pillar will crack and the only Pillar you need to hold onto is Jesus – so come.

All glory to God!
