My friends, I have often wondered what it means to be led by the Spirit according to the scripture in Romans 8:14 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God”. The answer became evident as I daily choose to engage in a personal relationship with God.
Being led by the Holy Spirit is not a weird experience but simply submitting to the power of God through the Holy Spirit to guide us in a seemingly natural ways manifested through our thoughts, words and deeds.
The benefits that come from being led by the Holy Spirit are:
- We are called the children of God – What a glorious testimony to be called a child of God. I don’t know about you; I would rather God testifies of me and call me His child than me be an embarrassment to Him, which I have in my past out of ignorance but I thank God for a new beginning.
- We are freed from the life of sin(s) – If you are anything like me with a checkered past, this benefit far outweighs any promise because it lifts the weight of condemnation from us. Reinforced in John 8:36, if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed.
If you are a Christ follower, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and transform your life for the best. If you are currently not a Christ follower, your greatest need is salvation and Jesus offers it free of charge and it comes with freedom from condemnation – so come!
All glory to God!
