O Lord, Increase My Desire for the Things of Heaven

Recently I was consumed by a personal situation that left me emotionally bankrupt because I was so focused on the things of this world. In my meditation, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the importance of keeping my focus on the hope of a better future. In that moment I resolved in my heart that I will continue to serve the Lord, no matter what.

Heaven is real, my friends, and our daily prayer as Christ followers should be that God removes from our life anything that will make us to miss the rapture.

To stay focused and not get distracted by our life situations, circumstances and events we MUST:

  • Renew our strength in the Word of God – We do so by studying and staying in the Word to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
  • Not grow weary – We keep our focus on the hope of a better future. Jesus is coming back soon, and we are reminded that blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll (Revelation 22:7-21).
  • Use our time and resources wisely – By becoming the hands and feet of Jesus in our community so people can see how God has changed our lives and they too can come, taste and see that the Lord is good.

Christ follower, we are reminded that in Heaven there will be no more sorrow, pain, sickness, poverty and so on. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss this glorious place either in death or at rapture. If you are currently not a Christ follower, Jesus paid the price on the cross because He loves you – so come and receive salvation today – its free of charge.

All Glory to God!
