My friends, wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Easter week.
Easter should not just be about the eggs and other worldly traditions associated with it. It is the celebration of our redemption from a life of sin to eternal life, if we believe and accept the gift of salvation which came with a very great price. 1 John 2:2 is a reminder of this “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world”.
As I reflect on this scripture in my own personal life, I realize that my physical and eternal life means nothing to satan hence his daily goal is to steal, kill, destroy and rubbish it. On the contrast, Jesus places a tremendous value on my life and paid a price no one else can or is willing to pay.
As we survey the wonderous Cross together this season, let us:
- Count the cost – Of what Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary. Counting the cost and the impact should be a motivator to do life with Him and according to His will for us.
- Give thanks for the salvation of our soul – God is worthy of our praise for giving His son Jesus Christ to take our place on the Cross. We can never praise Him enough.
- Remember that God’s grace is available for ALL – The scripture is clear that God does not want anyone to perish but that everyone should come to repentance. Hence, we must pray for our unbelieving family members, friends, neighbors, and the world that God will break their hearts for what breaks His and show them the love of Jesus.
Christ follower, let this season of Easter be a reminder of the tremendous price Christ paid for our salvation. If you are not currently a Christ follower, the gift of salvation is freely available for you – come.
All glory to God!
