Mitigate Your Risk Through Giving

My friends, did you know that you can mitigate the risk of losing your resources through giving?

The word of God tells us in Malachi 3:10-11 to “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty”.

This sounds counter intuitive but the things of God are not based on logic rather on obedience, faith and simply believing. God never lies, His words are true therefore:

  • Give to those in need – In fact there is a scripture that says if you give to the poor then you are lending to the Lord (Proverbs 19:17). I guarantee you that God pays high interest rate and you can never lose when you partner with Him.
  • Give of your time and resources – Not all of us have money to give, but we can certainly give of our time, knowledge and so on to help others in our circle of influence who need our help.

When we obey and give, this sets the stage for us to receive our blessings as stated in Luke 6:38 that says “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” This promise extends to every area of our life – health, marriage, children, relationships, finances, career, businesses, emotions and so on.

Christ follower, mitigate your risk and cultivate a habit of giving to the Lord and you will not be disappointed. If you are currently not a Christ follower, the greatest gift you can give to God is your life – don’t wait another day.

All glory to God!
