My friends, I don’t know about you but I am thankful for the mercy of God. His mercy led Him to die on the cross for the salvation of my soul, His mercy forgave all my shameful past and made me a new creation – I certainly can’t thank Him enough.
The word of God declares in Luke 1:50 that “His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation”.
Enjoying God’s boundless mercy requires that:
- We don’t take God’s mercy for granted – It is human nature to do this and often out of ignorance. Sometimes, we do this by thinking that all His mercies toward us are because we made it happen – simply put, attributing God’s mercy to our own success.
- Fear God – The Bible reminds us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). If we want to live a successful life, fearing God is the wise thing to do and in doing so, His mercy will continue to abound in our lives.
- We live a life of Thanksgiving – Beware! because satan often tries to cloud our minds with what we don’t currently have so we can ignorantly be ungrateful. All we have to do is look around us and we will see the abundant mercy of God in the gift of life, salvation, health, protection from all forms of evil and provision of everything that we need no matter how small they appear. The list for thanksgiving goes on and on.
Christ follower, reflect, enjoy the boundless mercy of God and don’t let a day go by without you thanking Him. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and enjoy His mercy today by surrendering your life to Him.
All glory to God!
