Watch your Thoughts

My friends, our lives are defined by our thoughts. Let’s reflect on a moment when a thought came into our minds (good or bad), and how the thought process eventually played out in our lives.

In God’s sovereignty, He knew how our thoughts could make or break us in life if we don’t watch and pray about it. Hence, we are reminded in His word in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

What does it mean to watch our thoughts: This means;

  • We align our thoughts with the word of God – Our road map in life is the Bible. If our thoughts are not aligning with God’s word – this should be a red flag for us.
  • We call upon God in the place of prayer – If we are struggling with defeating or sinful thoughts – we call upon God in the place of prayer to heal our thoughts. If our thoughts are positive, we still call on God for guidance on how to implement the thought.
  • We guard our thoughts – We do this by intentionally thinking of anything that is pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

Christ follower this year diligently watch your thoughts and bring it under the lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you are currently not a Christ follower, let God renew your thoughts and give you’re a better hope for the future.

All glory to God!
