Are You Weary? – Come and Receive Rest

My friends, think of a time when your body did not get enough rest and how irritable you felt until you took time out a for quick nap and felt refreshed.

Rest is an innate need for us to live a healthy and productive life. The Bible actually tells us that God Himself, rested from all His work on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2).

However, there is a rest that far outweighs the physical rest – this is the rest of God. This rest is imbedded into our inner and spiritual being and when we have it, the situation, circumstance and event of life roll off as water rolls off the back of a duck.

Why do we need the rest of God? Because:

  • This rest is unshakable – Not situational, or dependent on what is going on in our life but constant and unmovable like the rock.
  • This rest matures us spiritually – We begin to view our life in light of eternity, rather than our immediate situation.

Christ follower, because of the goodness of God, this rest is possible for you – receive and enjoy it with thanksgiving. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience this rest and you will not be shaken.

All glory to God!
