My friends, we live in a world that overwhelms us with many problems of our own and justifiably, self-interest seems like the right attitude to have – Not So.
The word of God encourages us to pray for others in Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people”.
Thinking of others in prayer is not only scriptural but provides the following advantages:
- God is pleased with our action – The heart’s desire of any Christ follower is to daily please God and when we do, He favors us in many ways that we don’t even know.
- Takes the focus off our own problems – Distractions that are godly and beneficial to others is worth pursuing. There is something gratifying and encouraging when you see God answer your prayers for others.
- Brings healing – When we pray daily for someone that has hurt us, God uses it to bring healing for all who are involved – try it, it works! It is God’s miracle and I believe in it.
- God remembers our own need – In the place of praying for others, God meets our own need – even the needs we have not thought of.
Christ follower, daily pray for the needs of others in your circle of influence and beyond and watch God amaze you in a special way. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the Hope in Christ.
All glory to God!
