My friends, this week, we are going to focus on FEAR the last barrier in this series to experiencing God’s love.
Fear is one of those crippling emotions that not only hinders us from experiencing God’s love but also has the ability to destroy us. God in his foreknowledge knows the damage that fear can do to us physically, spiritually and emotionally and hence He provided us with words of comfort in the Bible “fear not” 365 times.
It is God’s will for our lives to love, worship, obey, serve and enjoy Him. Yet Satan in his craftiness wants to control our minds and sow seeds of:
- Fear of what people will say if they know we are Christ followers – We must learn to fear God in every situation rather than ordinary people like us – fickle at best. The Bible warns us that the fear of man will prove to be a trap to us but if we trust in the Lord, we will be kept safe (Proverbs 29:25).
- Fear of what serving God will do to us – He paints false pictures in our minds that serving God is narrow, limiting, takes away our freedom and so on – not so. Satan is the one who lies, accuses us and steals our freedom because he makes promises he cannot deliver. Serving God provides us with the freedom we need to do life joyfully, peacefully, hopefully and without fear. Backed by His promise to us in Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you”.
Christ follower, the love Christ has for us overcomes any fear Satan tries to sow in our lives – so pray to God to help you discern Satan’s lies. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and enjoy life without fear today with the only one who can deliver you from all your fears.
All glory to God!
