My friends, one of the barriers that kept me from growing in my Christian walk with Christ for many years is the word “Holiness”. Hearing the word gave me a mental block because I thought it was totally impossible. The Lord began to teach me that my daily relationship with Him is where Holiness is developed rather than in religion and theology. I then realized that walking in Holiness is attainable by the grace of God and it is the issue of my heart manifested in my life style. With Holiness also comes tremendous benefits.
We are encouraged in 1 Peter 1:15-16 that says “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
So, what does a life of Holiness looks like for a Christ follower?
- A changed life – Showing that God is at the center and in control of our lives not us. The proof of this is manifested in our thoughts, actions and deeds.
- Learning, obeying and applying the word of God – Allowing the truth of His word to guide our daily decision-making process.
- Accepting we will not be perfect and there will be obstacles – Not allowing our imperfectness and obstacles to derail our spiritual growth of daily using our body, mind, heart, hands feet and mouth to engage in things that will bring God glory. When we fail, we rise up, repent, draw strength from God and keep on moving forward.
Christ follower, walking in Holiness is possible. Choose to walk in it and reap the benefits of a transformed life. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the God that is able to make all things new in your life today.
All glory to God!
