Cast your burden(s) on the Lord

Friends, how so often I convince myself that I am casting my burdens on the Lord and yet, immediately take them back.

There is a health risk in carrying our burden(s) around – hence God in His sovereignty knows this and assures us in His word that He wants to help us carry our burden(s).

Psalm 55:22 is a reminder of that promise – “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken”.

Though our burden(s) is manifest physically in different ways, the ability to cast them on the Lord is accomplished in the place of prayer and reflection on God’s word to renew our mind.  Remember, the battle of life is fought in the mind.

Let us consider the benefits of casting our burden(s) on the Lord:

  • We worry less – I don’t know about you, I don’t want to have to worry about a situation, event or circumstance if I don’t have to.
  • God sustains us – Imagine God carrying our burden(s) in His hands daily so we can live a healthy life and be free to serve Him.

Friends, God is willing to assume your burden(s) and is perfectly able to do so this week and year.  So, don’t half give them and don’t take them back – be intentional about your decision. If you are currently not a Christ follower, come and experience the joy of casting your burden(s) on the Lord because He cares for you.

All glory to God!
