Flourishing in Love

My friends, over the next nine weeks, we are going to focus on the fruits of the Spirit and how we can apply them to our day to day lives.

This week, our focus is on LOVE. Love is one of those action words that requires the help of the Holy Spirit and an intentional state of mind to accomplish.

So, how do we become lovable people either by giving and receiving love? We do this by:

  • Loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37) – this is the foundation. It is only Christ that can teach us how to love Him and others. We do this by fellowshipping with Him through daily Bible study; praising and thanking Him for all He is in our lives.
  • Loving our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:39) – I find this very difficult sometimes, particularly if the people in our lives are not lovable or even if we don’t love ourselves. However, by the help of the Holy Spirit, it is doable. Remember, you have to be intentional about this.

Christ follower, choose this week to flourish in Love towards God, others and yourself by intentionally asking the Holy Spirit to help you. If you are currently not a Christ follower, the God of love awaits you – come.
